There are ideas that, however much you think them through, you’re never convinced that you really, really understand them. And, no home matter how often you try to explain them to others, you’re never convinced you’ve explained them well enough.
This post is about such ideas. It it is one more effort to explain my ideas about the causes, the nature and the pace of change in coming decades – the the rest of this century. I have ideas about these decades based on my reading of the charts, but I have yet to succeed in explaining to my satisfaction.
I have frequently written about what I have called the oligarchic alignment. (I have tried to explain this period of time in this article.) The last six signs of the Zodiac – Libra thru Capricorn – are the natural home signs of the 1%, the staff of the oligarchy. These signs govern all the major, administrative professions.
From early in the 1970s until roughly 2010, all three outer planets, – Uranus, Neptune and Pluto – were all placed in these signs. In other words, for roughly 40 years, from about 1972 to 2010, the combined resources of the three powerful outer planets and 6 influential, administrative signs – Libra thru Pisces – were predominantly in the hands of the 1%, the oligarchic class, so to speak.
For four decades, the oligarchy was empowered, in very large part, to use these energetic resources in the shaping of patterns and structures to serve their own interests. Judging by the immense imbalances of global economic and political power that resulted, they appear to have done just that.
In 2010-11, Uranus transitioned into Aries, leaving Neptune and Pluto behind in the oligarchic alignment. Overwhelming astrological support for the 1% ended.
Aries is the first of the six signs – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo – associated with the 99%. Thus, in 2010-11, Uranus began a continuing (42 year long ) transit of the signs associated with the 99%. The Zodiacal energies had begun their long slow build up in the signs of the 99%.
Thus, in 2010-11, Uranus began a lengthy, series of disruptive, transformative aspects to the oligarchic alignment. Uranus, acting from the various signs associated with the 99%, is now turning its powerful, disruptive and transformative attentions onto the signs of the 1%.
In so doing, Uranus will inexorably, irresistibly transform the practices and policies that the 1% put in place during the 40 years of the oligarchic alignment. It will do so from the perspective and on behalf of the 99%.
During these decades, about the order established by the oligarchy during their ascendancy, during the oligarchic alignment, that bothered, oppressed and exploited the 1% will soften, adjust and vanish. Much of it will probably be turned to the advantage of the 99%.
In late 2025, in approximately 8 years, Neptune, in its turn, will join Uranus in the signs of the 99%. In approximately 2068, Pluto, too, will enter Aries and begin its transit of the signs of the 99%. Neptune will begin its own long, slow round of disruptive and transformative aspects to the patterns, etc., laid down during the oligarchic alignment.
In approximately 2068, Pluto will enter Aries. Acting from the signs of the 99%, Pluto will begin making its own, long, slow round of disruptive and transformative aspects to the patterns and policies put in place during the oligarchic alignment. Where Uranus and Neptune failed to bring change, potent Pluto almost certainly will.
As the decades of the 21st century pass, therefore, the aspects playing upon the patterns and structures put in place during the oligarchic alignment, will grow more complex, more varied, more powerful and more effective.
Beginning in roughly 2010, in the signs of the 99%, Uranus did, in fact, begin triggering persistent protests and demands for reform on behalf of the 99%. These demands were and still are often made in revolutionary, distinctly Uranian tones. However, in 2010-11, the oligarchic alignment remained too strong for quick change.
In 2025-6, Neptune will add its energies to the signs of the 99%, complementing and/or augmenting the energies of Uranus. Neptune’s energies will add idealistic vision to the mix. Neptune’s visionary energies will powerfully inspire and motivate the 99% and introduce high levels of flexibility into our thinking.
Neptune’s energies, powerful solvents, will also dissolve oligarchic policies, patterns and structures. Neptune’s energies will actively loosen the oligarchic grip on economic and political power and further inspire the 99% to reshape the world.
Astrological cycles are all but maddeningly combined and subtle. They include innumerable complex twists, turns and variations. They tell, or often seem to tell, fascinating stories. However, describing and analyzing them in detail can be a deeply challenging task that we needn’t take up now.
For roughly forty years, between 1972 and 2010-11, the plans of the the oligarchic class, the 1%, enjoyed the sustained and sustaining support of all three powerful outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
This support has begun to drop away and will continue to drop away as the 21st century wears on. Astrological influences will distribute themselves more evenly between the signs of the 1% and the 99%.
While the oligarchic alignment was in force, support for oligarchic policies and programs was quite robust. The oligarchy seemed like bedrock economic and political reality. Resistance typically proved futile.
With Uranus in Aries and Neptune headed the same way, that is no longer true. As the 21st century wears on, with Uranus and Neptune, and eventually Pluto, swinging over to support the 99%, existing oligarchic principles, practice programs and institutions will increasingly lose traction. Resistance will become more effective. Demands for reform will become more effective.
The current oligarchic bedrock of political and our economic reality will soften and shift. Resistance will no longer seem so futile or reform so unlikely.
Politics will no longer be so rigidly, stubbornly and predictably partisan. Increasingly there will be dialogue and reciprocity between the 1% and the 99%.
But, dear readers, this is going to take a long time. It’s going to unfold slowly. And it’s going to be complicated. To make the change we need to make in the world, we are going to have to make change in ourselves and what these changes need to be will only become apparent over time.

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has offered expressions of appreciation and support and by liking and sharing my work. Please understand that I receive notice of your contribution most often by emails from PayPal or Amazon. PayPal does not provide a reliable way to contact the person who makes the contribution. Amazon does allow for a direct reply to the person, but most contributions come through PayPal.
Some people make especially generous contributions and I feel immediately inspired to make a special acknowledgement of that contribution via email, but it is usually impossible to do because PayPal does not identify the person fully enough for me to contact you through FB messenger.
It used to be that one could send an acknowledgment by return email. That is not true anymore and hasn’t been for some time. Please be aware of this fact and know that I am grateful.
